It's nearly the end of the year, and it's time to tell little Laura what your fave albums of 2004 were.

if you want.

But lets face it, this place needs a new thread.

my faves, not necessarily the "best of the year" but still pretty damn nice.
Le Tigre- This Island (best gig of the year)
Mono- - Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined (for fans of tremendous "post-rock" beauty)

haven't really bought a whole bunch of new cds this year.

still haven't heard Aereogramme's Seclusion, i'm sure that'd be on the list, whether or not it's a full album.

Aereogramme - Seclusion

off the top of my head, and in no particular order... and not even necessarily the best, just most listened to....

Wilco - A ghost is born
Ghost - Hypnotic underworld
Modest Mouse - Good news for people who love bad news
Broken Social Scene - Feelgood Lost
The Walkmen - Bows and arrows
Mark Geary - 33 1/3 Grand Street
Broken Social Scene - Feelgood Lost
The Frames - Burn the maps
Interpol - Antics

Last year, really? It could well be.
And I listed it twice.
That’s what I get for trying to think of lists with a hangover.

the Killers
Modest Mouse
Libertines

I haven't heard the new Interpol in it's entirety yet, so I can't put that one on my list until I get it. but I hope it's as good as the hype.

Razor Crusade - Infinite Water

Ash and Interpol are all that spring to mind. I second the Public Pervert liking, although Slow Hands has one of the best lines I've heard in it:

'You make me want to pick up a guitar/
and describe the myriad ways that I love you'

That one. Or the one that sounds very like it.

C'mere? It sounds a wee bit like Slow Hands... ish.

Take You on a Cruise and Public Pervert are my favourites, but then they're all pretty good (except Not Even Jail which I skip past).

Sorry, what I meant is that the lyrics sound very like the ones I quoted. The song is definitely Slow Hands.

Ahhh, I see. I got confused. I thought you liked Slow Hands and another track which you thought sounded similar to Slow Hands.

The Miss Kitten album is very good... as are Graham Coxons, Mcluskys (not as good as 'Do Dallas, but much better than half the wank thats out), Morrissey's, Franz, the Hacker, etc...
